After several years of being out of service, the City's Street Sweeper is back in service for the most part. It's been running pretty much on schedule. There has been a moratorium on the issuance of "No parking certain time" tickets" during the time the sweeper has been down.
The "No parking certain times" ordinance will be enforced starting September 1st. That means you have to move your car from the prescribed streets from 8am through 3 pm, Monday through Friday.
I've attached a schedule in the event you're not familiar with it. Pretty much all of the signs in the city have been updated to reflect the daytime parking restriction.
Please keep in mind, the ordinance is enforceable whether the sweeper runs or not, whether it rains, storms, or if it is out of service. It would be good to get into the habit of moving your cars now. Please share if you live in Salem. - Chief Pelura
